Thoughts.
Thoughts is a space for me to celebrate, rant, consolidate, ruminate and explore the world via my love of photography. I won’t review gear, brands or talk megapixels, rather this exploration will be more philosophical based. If you’ve read ‘On Photography’ by Susan Sontag, then you may be in the right place.
Garage doors
One of my current photography projects is named Garage doors. What it is about, I am as yet unsure. Here are some early thoughts on the project as it develops.
Let light leak
At the moment the back of the camera popped open I knew exactly the stupidity of my actions. However no matter how quickly I moved to undo my stupidity I had let light leak.
Impermanence
A photograph renders a moment immortal, frozen, stalled in time. It tells a story and can create a story snatched from the magic of life.
In the master’s footsteps
My photography career started by looking deeply at the work of Ansel Adams.
Intentional tension and the space in between
Photography is intentional tension. Finding enjoyment in the space in between is the fuel.
Old caravans in the wild
I’m working on a series named ‘Old caravans in the wild’. I love old caravans…
Zen mind beginners mind
‘Zen mind beginners mind’ by Shunryu Suzuki is a wonderful book. What does it have to do with photography?…
