Don’t know

Although I like to talk and muse about art, I veer away when it feels like a description of a piece of work tries to justify it’s existence.

I have been guilty of it in the past. Trying to fit in using art-speak to get my work exhibited in a gallery by being wordy, complicated and deep. When the words become so deep that they suck the light and life out of an artwork it has the opposite effect. Rather than be illuminating the words throw shade.

When making photographs I can sometimes be left perplexed by an image I have made. This blue stone building below caught my attention. It’s character is questionable however this in turn gives it character. The enjoyment of the work is that it has no obvious explanation and that is sometimes enough.
