The Secret River a major exhibition of photographs shot from the banks of the Maribyrnong River by Christian Pearson, will be showing at the Incinerator Arts Complex from November 26 to December 14, 2008. The show will be officially opened by Rob Gell, President of Greening Australia, Victoria, on Saturday November 29 2-4pm. 

Award winning photographer and local resident Christian Pearson has photographed moments on the Maribyrnong River within the boundaries of the City of Moonee Valley. The photographs reflect his heightened sense of emotional connection to the river. The study of patterns, light, texture and reflection, create a mood of mystery and awe that such places still exist in suburban Melbourne. The images remind us that the Maribyrnong River has flowed for thousands of years leaving beautiful marks on the land and our minds. It is indeed a river of great cultural, historical, and spiritual worth.

With the support of a Moonee Valley City Council community art & culture grant and major sponsorship from Melbourne Water this exhibition promises to show the Maribyrnong River in a new light.
